Tickets & Exchanges
How do I purchase tickets?
For most of our concerts, you can purchase tickets online through this website (michiganphil.org) or by calling our box office at (734) 451-2112. Please note that tickets purchased over the phone are still subject to service charges (credit card and platform fees). You may also use cash or check to purchase tickets in the Michigan Philharmonic box office or at the concert. For assistance with our online ticketing system, please call our box office.
Digital tickets arrive in your inbox as soon as you purchase them online. You can even add them to a digital wallet, such as Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. You can request physical tickets to be mailed to you by calling our box office at (734) 451-2112. If you request physical tickets less than seven days before the concert, we will automatically hold your tickets at the Will Call desk.
If you purchase a subscription package online, you must redeem your tickets for each show that you’d like to attend after purchasing the package. You will receive a link to your Patron Portal in your email, where you can go to redeem the tickets.
Some of our venues, such as The Hawk and the Ford House, sell and distribute tickets to our concerts through their own ticketing systems. Our box office staff can help you order these tickets over the phone or at the box offices of the respective venues.
Can I exchange my tickets?
Only season subscribers may exchange tickets for another Michigan Philharmonic concert. Please email us at info@michiganphil.org or call us at (734) 471-2112, and we will be happy to assist you.
Are group rates available?
Yes! We encourage groups to attend our concerts. Special rates are available for groups of 10 or more. Please email info@michiganphil.org or call us at (734) 471-2112 for further details.
What if I lose my tickets?
If you misplace your tickets, please email us at info@michiganphil.org or call us at (734) 471-2112 immediately. This will allow us to confirm your ticket purchase and issue replacement tickets as needed.
Can I donate my ticket?
We encourage ticket holders who are unable to use or exchange their tickets to donate their tickets instead. The Michigan Philharmonic will ensure that a Youth Orchestra member or High School Arts Academy student will use every ticket donated. Please email us at info@michiganphil.org or call us at (734) 471-2112 to donate tickets.
Can I buy a gift certificate?
Yes! Share your love for music with your loved ones. You can purchase a Plymouth Gift Certificate from the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce, or email us at info@michiganphil.org or call us at (734) 471-2112 and we will be happy to sell you a Michigan Phil gift certificate.
Before and At the Concert
When should I arrive?
Please allow 30 to 40 minutes prior to the concert start time. A few of our concerts will have a pre-concert talk. Please check your tickets to verify all start times.
What if I arrive late?
If you arrive late, please refrain from entering the hall until an usher or house manager directs you to do so. Latecomers will be seated during performance pauses and at intermission by an usher or house manager.
What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
We don’t have a dress code for performances, but please dress appropriately for a family-friendly setting. Make sure to dress comfortably for sitting down for an hour or two, keeping in mind that most of our indoor venues are air-conditioned and can be quite chilly.
When should I clap?
Applause is welcome after each piece, but please refrain from clapping between the movements of pieces that have multiple movements. If you’re not sure when to clap, follow the lead of the audience around you, or wait for the conductor to put down the baton before applauding.
Can I use my electronic devices?
All cell phones and electronic devices must be silenced at the start of the performance. Please refrain from using your devices during the performance. Do not take photos or videos during the concert, as this is very distracting to everyone around you. That said, feel free to take photos and videos before the concert, during intermission, and after the concert. You can even use our Michigan Phil photo banner as a backdrop. We’d love for you to share your concert experience on social media — please tag us! We’re @michiganphil on Instagram.
How long is a typical performance?
Michigan Phil concerts usually last less than 2 hours, including a 15-minute intermission. However, program length varies between concerts.
Is there special needs access?
Most of the venues where we perform are accessible to special needs. Please email us at info@michiganphil.org for details on the accessibility of specific concert venues.
Can I bring my children?
Yes! We welcome children to attend our concerts. We encourage the love of orchestral music and appropriate behavior in our young audience members. Please note that children must be supervised by an adult, and every child must have a ticket, regardless of age.
